What is "Greenpower"?

The Greenpower Function is a process that allows the UPS to turn OFF after 5 minutes of being in battery mode. 
 
The Greenpower feature is activated when the total load on the UPS is equal or less than 10% of the UPS capacity, therefore if the devices connected consume less than 10% of the UPS capacity it will shut off in 5 minutes.
 
If your UPS has those symptoms, you must connect another device to increase the 10% Watt capacity in order to deactivate the Greenpower function. Every time the UPS is below this requirement, the Greenpower function will be enabled.


As an example, here are some model capacity and minimum watts require to disable Greenpower:
 

For SL Series:

(Model SL-5xx)  500VA /250 Watts = 25 watts.

(Model SL-7xx)  750VA/375 Watts =  38 watts.

For FX Series:

(Model FX-15xx)  1500VA /750 Watts = 75 watts.

(Model FX-22xx)  2200VA/1100 Watts =  110 watts.

Also this feature can be disabled by cutting the Resistor R15A (R10C on FX-1500LCD), however this will VOID the Warranty of the UPS. Here are the pictures and tables regarding where you could find that resistor on the MotherBoard of each UPS and which units cannot be disabled the Greenpower by hardware.

* NOTE: NOT ALL FX series has the Greenpower feature.  Models produced BEFORE Feb 2015 have this Greenpower function enabled. After that date it has been removed. For more assistance, please ask Forza Tech Support.
